The first thing to realize is that you are only as healthy as the food that you can digest.

The major role of the digestive system is to break down food and to provide the body with nutrients. If the gut is damaged it doesn’t matter how good your food is or how many supplements you take your gut will not be able to deliver those nutrients to the rest of the body.

There are quite a few things that can affect the function of your digestive system. When the digestive system is in balance and the good bacteria are doing their job, the gut is in a state of symbiosis. It’s got a happy balance. However, when this balance is out it is called dysbiosis.

A number of things can cause digestive problems

  • Stress
  • Medication, pill, antibiotics
  • Junk food, sugar, high carbohydrate-based diets
  • Food intolerances, allergies or sensitivities
  • Frequent antibiotic or drug therapy
  • Emotional stress
  • Intestinal infections
  • Parasites

These can then result in an overpopulation of bad bacteria and yeast (candida), all of which are going to affect how well you digest food and how well the body functions.

Digestive Health and Food

The major role of the digestive system is to break down food and to deliver nutrients and fuel to the body. This is important as your entire bodies health is relying on how well this process works. So many health problems could be healed by first starting at gut health and getting this working well.

When you consume food, there are a number of steps in which the food goes through. First it is chewed and the enzymes in your saliva start to break up the food. This then heads to the stomach to keep breaking down food, the stomach uses hydrochloric acid and pancreatic juices to break down fat. Then what is left heads to the small intestine where the billions of bacteria do their job.

Digestive Health and Bad Foods

There are so many things that can go wrong in the journey that your food takes, from not chewing your food, through to not being able to digest and break down your food. So, if you make this job even harder by giving the body the wrong food which makes this entire process even more complicated you are going to notice significant effects in your health. Whether it’s your energy, skin, sleep or your mood.

If you are consuming the wrong foods for your body, these foods aren’t going to get broken down properly. They are going to ferment causing gases and toxins to release which is going to cause immediate stress in your digestive system, this could be cramps, bloating, gas, constipation or diarrhoea.

Digestive Health and Stress

Then if you continue to eat those foods causing stress, the body is going to show other symptoms of inflammation, whether its allergies, rashes, skin problems, acne, achy joints. Then over time if you keep going on the same path those symptoms then turn into bigger autoimmune conditions….

So, if the body is stressed because of the food that you are eating and aren’t digesting, this is stress. Your body is a system of systems, it sees stress as stress. This increases cortisol in your body and anybody that is running high on cortisol or adrenaline is going to send alarm signals to all the other hormones and throw them all out of balance.

It all comes back to food, how well you eat, and how well you digest. You must take care with what you put into your body and listen to how your body reacts to it. The food you eat should energize you and fuel you.

When the digestive system isn’t working correctly the following symptoms may be present

  • Bloating, belching, burning, flatulence after meals
  • A sense of never full binge eating
  • A sense of bloating or fullness after eating
  • Indigestion, diarrhea, constipation
  • Allergy reactions after eating
  • Itchy skin, ears, rectum
  • Weak or cracked finger nails
  • Dilated capillaries in the cheeks and nose in the non-alcoholic
  • Skin irritations such as perioral dermatitis, acne, rosacea
  • Iron deficiency
  • Chronic yeast infections
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of menstrual cycle or severe PMS

Follow this protocol to restore digestive health:

Note: Most people with poor digestive health suffer with “acid reflux” and therefore take antacids. However, in 90% of the cases it is not a matter of too high acid levels but rather too low acidity in the stomach. As we grow older or due to certain medication or high levels of stress, our stomachs can become too alkaline and therefore food take longer to digest and can cause “acid reflux”.

Rectify “acid reflux” with the following method and discard the antacids.

  1. Dilute a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of water and drink it just before each meal. This will help to increase stomach acids so that food can digest quicker.
  2. Use Manna Collagen each day, because it can help to repair the inside of the digestive tract.
  3. Take the Manna GUT Support each day to reinstate healthy bacteria and digestive enzymes in the digestive tract.
  4. By using Manna Blood Sugar Support supplement with each meal, it helps to regulate blood glucose levels, and works in tandem with the GUT Support to increase healthy bacteria in the digestive tract.
  5. Follow the Manna Diet to eliminate refined carbohydrates from your diet.
  6. Sprinkle a tablespoon of Flaxseed oil on your salad each day, because this will help with bowel movement and overall digestive health.

Follow this digestive health protocol for at least 3 months.
